ESG was engaged to conduct indoor environmental quality testing of a new federal credit union building in Burlington NC. The testing was one of the final steps in moving the building toward LEED Silver certification. The building, which opens March 8 2010, will be the first LEED certified building in Alamance County NC.

The test parameters included the collection of airborne measurements in two locations inside the building for total volatile organic compounds, formaldehyde, carbon monoxide and airborne particulate matter (PM10). ESG's test equipment was able to provide the building contractor with immediate on-site results, eliminating the delay incurred with sending samples to a laboratory. This process allowed the contractor to move forward with readying the building for occupancy.
