| New Regulation Requires Mechanical Ventilation Starting in 2010
Researchers have completed a multi-season study of ventilation and indoor air quality in 108 new homes in California. The California Air Resource Board (ARB) and the California Energy Commission sponsored the study, which was the first field study of ventilation and indoor air quality in new homes. |

| A survey of 1000 general practitioners (GPs) in Denmark found that 62%
of doctors had been consulted by at least one patient with MCS. The
majority, 74%, had referred patients to other medical specialties and
stated they were rarely able to meet the patient's expectations for
healthcare. |

| New Study Focused on Health Effects of Central Air Conditioning |

| One of the concerns expressed over the past few years by scientists who study the indoor environment involves central air conditioning. We all know some of the benefits of central A/C: a more comfortable indoor environment and the potential to reduce some health problems, such as asthma & other respiratory symptoms. Central A/C also reduces humidity, which will help reduce the prevalence of dust mites. But central A/C when combined with a tighter building can also create other threats to health, such as carbon monoxide poisoning if the home is not well ventilated. |

| New Research Finds Mold Toxins in All Visibly Damaged Buildings
New research pubished in ScienceDaily from the Division of Medical Microbiology at Lund University in Sweden analyzed dust samples from buildings damaged by mold. Virtually all of the samples contained mold toxins. |
